Coronavirus updates:

6-3-20: As we attempt to begin meeting together again, we want to do everything we can to ensure everyone’s safety.  Please read this entire message, so you will know what all of the guidelines are for each meeting.

Our desire is to provide a place of fellowship and a place for meeting people’s spiritual needs, while also ensuring people’s safety.  There are many rules outlined by Marion County and the State of Oregon, and we are adhering to all of those rules.  We also realize that there are many different opinions on what is and is not necessary, so we have come up with what we believe is best for our church family.  Again, everyone’s safety is our first concern.

If you are interested, you can contact the church office for a brief summary of what is currently required by Marion County and the State of Oregon.  You will also find a list of what to expect when you come to the church for a meeting.  If you feel uncomfortable coming for any reason, please do not come.  We are taking every precaution we can, but know that you are still coming at your own risk.  So, if you don’t feel comfortable coming, we understand if you prefer to stay home.  We will continue to have the sermon posted online weekly so you can watch or listen to it and if you have a need, you can call or email the church office during our normal office hours.  The pastors are also available either by phone or through email.

Here is a list of the meetings that we will be having at the church to start with:

  • Tuesday 10:00 am Bible study led by Alex Williams, beginning on June 16th
  • Wednesday evening Bible study at 7:00 pm, led by Pastor Don, beginning on June 17th
  • Sunday morning Sunday School class at 9:30 am, led by Steve Forbes, beginning on June 21st.
  • Sunday morning Sunday School class at 9:30 am, led by Tim Smith, beginning on June 28th.
  • We can only have a maximum of 25 people in a room at a time.   So we are asking you to please register for the class that you plan to attend by calling or emailing the church office so that we can make sure we do not go over the allowed number.

What to expect when you come:

  • You will be asked to register in advance for the meeting you plan to attend, by calling or emailing the church office.
  • You will be required to wear a mask the entire time you are at the church.
  • You will be asked to use the restroom before you come, so that a minimum number of people use the restrooms while at the church.
  • At this time, only kids that are age 6 and older, will be allowed to come, and must sit the entire time with their parents.  (We aren’t able to have childcare for younger children because of the social distancing guidelines.)
  • Please do not come more than 10 minutes early to the meeting.
  • You will be asked to park in the parking lot nearest the entrance you will go in and out.
  • You will be asked to use the entrance nearest the meeting room you will be in.
  • You will be met at the door that is already open, by a greeter wearing a face mask who will give you some hand sanitizer.  They will direct you to the meeting room.  They will also provide you with a mask if you forgot to bring one.
  • You will be asked to only use the hallways necessary to get to and from the room you will be meeting in.
  • The room will be set up without tables, and seating will be a minimum of 6 feet apart.
  • At this time, there will be no singing.
  • Your name and seat location will be recorded for contact tracing purposes.
  • If someone who has attended a meeting finds out they are infected with the Coronavirus, you will be contacted, letting you know that you have been potentially exposed to the virus.
  • If you need to use the restroom, only one person in the restroom at a time will be allowed.
  • Each meeting will be a maximum of 1 hour long, and you will be asked not to stay and visit, because we will need to clean the building after everyone is gone.
  • When the meeting is over, you will be asked to keep 6 feet minimum social distance from those not in your household.
  • As you leave, a person will have the door propped open, and will again give you hand sanitizer.
  • If you are not willing to adhere to all these guidelines, we are sorry but will not be able to let you into the building.

5-29-20: The elders have come up with our phase 1 reopening plans.  We will begin to have small group meetings at the church starting on June the 16th.  We will have more detailed information for you next week, outlining our plans to adhere with the State, and Marion County guidelines.  It is our desire to provide a safe meeting environment for everyone who comes.  We look forward to seeing you as we begin to fellowship together again at the church!

5-22-20: As you may have heard, Marion and Polk counties have been approved to begin opening for phase 1 as of today (Friday May 22).  There are many detailed guidelines that must be met for businesses and churches, etc. to open.  Some of the requirements for safe social distance indoors while singing, make it impossible for us to have more than 16 individual groups of people in our sanctuary at one time.  We have 69 individual groups of people that regularly attend.  So, you can see how it would not be practical for us to hold worship services yet.  So, we are working on ways we can meet the requirements and begin to have a few small group meetings.  We will have more detailed information for you hopefully by the middle of next week.  In the meantime, please be praying for the pastors and elders as we work our way through this together.

We plan to continue to have a weekly sermon and prayer list available for you to listen to, which you can find at www.keizercommunitychurch.sermon.net. We also have a video of the sermon, which you will be to find on our sermons page.

4-14-20: For those of you wondering how to easily make a face mask without sewing, click here.

4-3-20: As most of you know, the state of Oregon has mandated a ban on all social gatherings indefinitely. We are following their guidelines, and so all of our meetings are canceled until further notice. As the mandates change, we will update you accordingly. As soon as we are allowed to meet, we will start meeting again. In the meantime, we encourage you to continue to be the church right where you are. If you are aware of anyone in need, please meet the need where you are able. Please also let the church office know of needs that we can meet, and please let the church office know of any prayer concerns that we can pass along.

We plan to continue to have a weekly sermon and prayer list available for you to listen to, which you can find at www.keizercommunitychurch.sermon.net. We also have a video of the sermon, which you will be to find on our sermons page.

The church office continues to be open during the week during our normal hours, Tues – Fri 8:30-2:30. If you have any concerns, needs, or prayer requests please feel free to call us.

3-12-20: It is our desire to keep our church family as safe as possible during this current health concern. So based on the State of Oregon’s decision to cancel large group meetings, we have decided it would be wise to cancel our meetings as well. Effective immediately, all church activities are canceled through at least March 25, at which point we will then re-evaluate the situation and update you.

Our goal is to have a weekly sermon and prayer list available for you to listen to, which you can find at www.keizercommunitychurch.sermon.net

The church office will remain open during the week during our normal hours, Tues – Fri 8:30-2:30. If you have any concerns, please feel free to call us.
